My life is so different to my parents that it is hard to compare. Pere discuss the difference between our parents and parents of today.
In migrating to Australia from Spain left all grandparents behind and completely underestimated the value of having grandparents around to help with bring up the children.
Tell the story about your transition between being without Children to being a Dad?
Moved to Australia and was doing MBA, Michal was born the week of final exam.
The biggest adjustment was the lack of time and balancing time for yourself and your children. Having time for yourself and not feeling guilty is difficult.
Tell me the story about how you and your partner created balance in your relationship? Ensure you get time together.
Met wife 15 years ago. Had known each other for a long time. Example of love at first sight.
We have a rule when we go out – ‘we don’t talk kids’. Talking kids loses the romanticism.
Give the listeners your experience in balancing career and family. What in your opinion is the key?
The key is not to focus on the quantity of time, more the quality of time.
Just because you have to be in the office does not mean that you are failing as a Dad.
What is your biggest worry when it comes to your children and how/what are you doing to mitigate these concerns?
My task as a parent is to prepare these little human beings for life. I would like my kids to see the world as a place full of opportunities.
Most proud moment – when did you really nail it as a Dad?
When my son told me I was his best friend for the first time.

- Productivity tool or website– Books – Bed time story makes me a better Dad
- Ensure time for yourself– I schedule time with friends in my outlook calendar and commit to it.
- Innovative Discipline– Use the eldest child as a role model
- Family Tradition – I need to return to the Spanish traditions (listen to the traditions of Spain)
- Personal Habit – Not forgetting that I am a man. Unless you have the balance and individually feel fulfilled, it is difficult to give back.
